Don't believe everything you think.
What if I don't have that many challenges?  What if I'm already content?    My life is pretty good?

Congratulations!

Then you might be ready for a "Creative Breakthrough."

Counseling can take you to the next step if you have resolved past issues and are ready to live your life's purpose.

Unlike friends and family, we see you as you are now, with a fresh new perspective, free from the parts of your history that may be limiting.  Together we can help you to develop your own genius.

You can experiment with new ideas, talk about your hopes and dreams without concern for others' opinions and expectations.  We can help define your vision for your life.

Isolation can be a  dream killer.  No amount of positive thinking can replace information, encouragement and accountability. You need input and support from other people.

We'll tell you things you need to know.  With a skilled, experienced therapist to encourage and truly believe in you, you can unlock your enthusiasm and creativity.

Working together, we can amplify your energy and "kick it up a notch" to help you thrive.

Do challenging emotions get the best of you?   They can start running the show and make choices for you.  They can choose isolation instead of connecting, playing it safe instead of living fully, quick fixes instead of real solutions, procrastination over action, blaming others over claiming your power.  You may even start believing the  idea that things will never get betterAs you get more discouraged, you may start ignoring the body, listening to the thoughts suggesting "just settle for less."

These ideas are, well . . . quite frankly . . .simply wrong!

But most people don't stop to inquire about the thoughts that go through their mind.  After a while, these unexamined thoughts can turn into problems:
  • Troubling emotions like depression, irritability and anxiety
  • Low self esteem
  • Self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks
  • Relationship problems
  • Chronic health problems
  • Addictions
  • Procrastination and difficulty making decisions
  • Isolation from the people who care about you
  • Clutter
Healthy grief can turn into depression. And without thinking, you may seek relief with food, alcohol, over-work, shopping or drugs. You may attempt to feel good through artificial means. These attempts to feel good may fall short and you end up feeling worse than before.

Our skilled and compassionate therapists will help you identify, examine and challenge the thoughts that close doors.   We will help you recognize these troubling thoughts and emotions for what they are: the body’s best intentions to keep you safe. . . but at great cost to you and the life you were meant to live.  Like the story of the Golden Buddha, you may come to realize that you are not your feelings, not even your thoughts.   And that there is a better life waiting for you.

Together, as we compassionately recognize these patterns, they lose their power to run the show. With help you will learn how to do this:
Don't believe everything you think.

Soon, you'll discover that well-being, confidence and creativity have been patiently waiting inside you, underneath the frustration and discouragement.  Together we will find and call upon your healthy self and your inner wisdom.

After a while, like the acorn and the oak tree, you come to know the real truth about you, that you are a capable person ready to have meaningful relationships and work,  and that you deserve to be happy. And if you are someone who has a spiritual path, this work will call Spirit more deeply and joyfully into your life.

There is convincing evidence that most people who have at least several sessions of psychotherapy are far better off than untreated individuals.  One major study showed that:

  • 50% of patients improved noticeably after 8 sessions.
    • 75% of people in therapy improved after 6 months.
Perhaps you are ready to be one of those people?
