Our Approach to Therapy

Home About Us Our Approach to Therapy

Our Approach to Therapy

Be prepared for our interactive style of counseling

We connect with you to provide an interactive exchange, working with you in a collaborative process that helps you overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship, and other issues. We are much more than good listeners.  We are knowledgeable, skilled change agents, and we really do care.

Direct Feedback

We give you direct feedback about your situation. We know you are going through a difficult time. We will tell you what we see, then suggest how to move forward in the best possible way. This is an approach to counseling that most people find refreshing.

Skills

Unfortunately, our ever-speedy world tends to be overstimulating and anxiety-provoking, and robs us of the time and space we need to process our experiences and emotions.  Few of us naturally have the skills for managing stress and reducing anxiety.  In your therapy process, you will work in session and at home to learn how to manage anxiety, depression, and other difficulties.  It is a wonderful feeling to be the master of your own emotions!

Goal-Directed focus

Your therapist will  help you define clear goals, and provide practical guidance in achieving them. Working toward these goals will give you a sense of how far you’ve come in therapy and when it is time to finish.

Short-Term Therapy?

We find that many clients don’t need to stay in therapy for very long. With the help of your therapist, you will better understand your challenges and what to do about them. Once you have achieved a positive outcome, your therapy may be complete.   As some of us like to say “The point of coming to therapy, is not coming to therapy!”
