A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  -Lao Tzu

One of the most amazing things I have been a part of in my life has been to witness and guide people taking this first step and then the next and the next until they are walking their journey without me in the direction they truly want to go.  I hope that you can entrust me with your first steps.

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia University.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Oregon (#L8387) and Washington (#LW60195751) and have a Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification in Washington(#CP60348312).  I also completed a certification program through Portland State University in Trauma Informed treatment.

My goal is to find an approach in therapy that is effective for you.  Every person is unique, and you deserve someone that is willing to hear your story and work with you to provide the best guide for your journey.   I have been trained in and pull from a variety of therapeutic frameworks.  Some of these are:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Solution Focused Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Seeking Safety
  • Emotion Focused Therapy
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Play Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy

My experience in the mental health field started over twenty years ago.  I have had the opportunity to work across the lifespan with individuals as young as 5 up to 94.  My first years were spent in adolescent treatment focusing on dual disorders of addiction and mental health diagnoses.  The last ten years I have been providing therapy in a community health setting which has given me the ability to work with a diverse population and become experienced providing therapy for most mental health conditions.  I specialize in:

  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Anxiety, Panic Disorder, & OCD
  • Depression & Bipolar Disorder
  • Addictions & Coping with a family member with Addiction
  • Families, Children and Teens
  • Life Transitions
  • Grief and Loss
  • Older Adults

The journey of therapy can be exciting and challenging.  I believe that we can take some amazing steps if you are willing to be vulnerable and start this process.  I look forward to meeting you and working together soon.
