Black Lives Matter

We stand with our brothers and sisters in the Black community because we believe that Black Lives Matter too!!

Jonelle Richards, LCSW

Christine McCulloch, MBA

In the last few months, CSP has looked inward and held transformative conversations about what it means to be Black in America. We know that racism is systemic and it is engrained in many of our systems. We are striving to be part of the solution, and to incorporate a pro-Black Lives Matter perspective into what we do as a company.

  1. We are fully aware of the role we play in society in hiring administrative employees and contracting with therapists to provide care for our diverse community.  We seek a diverse pool of candidates to meet our clients’ needs. We take resumes for independent contractor therapists all the time. Please send your resume to hr@counseling-pdx.com.
  2. We are providing a series of Anti-Racism Trainings to our employees and independent contractor therapists throughout the year. These training have been enlightening and are helping  move our company toward an even stronger anti-racist philosophy and approach.
  3. On Friday June 19th, 2020 (Juneteenth), we joined with Multnomah County and other companies around Portland, and in the country, in declaring a paid holiday for our employees, so as to take the day off for “respite and renewal”. It was also a chance to learn more about local and national Black history as well as to support Black businesses. We will do this every year.
  4. We are constantly looking for and participating in opportunities to support Black People and People of Color.
  5. Our independent contractor therapists are offering discounted rates to those who cannot afford regular rates.
  6. Our independent contractor therapists are doing their best in educating themselves to support Black People in their times of need, and with their unique therapeutic challenges as People of Color in a country where systemic racism abounds.
  7. Through our conscious anti-racist stance and choices we hope to help our culture and society move toward greater equity for Black People and all People of Color.
