I believe we all need and want to feel connected to other people. Our relationships can bring the greatest joy and yet can serve as our greatest source of pain.
I come along side you to identify patterns, perceptions and communication that can help or hinder your relationships, and can affect your mind, body, and spirit.
Working together, we will activate your own strengths, equip you with practical tools for coping and thriving, and release those burdens that have prevented you from trusting, connecting and expressing your emotions to others in a constructive way.
Whether you come to see me as an individual, as a couple, or are bringing your child in for counseling, we will enter into a partnership to help you untangle the things that trip up the incredible journey of life.
Because no two people or situations are alike, I draw from many theories and use a wide variety of tools to help you accomplish your goals. I tailor my approach to what best fits you, your child, your family, or your relationship.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional having demonstrated the core competencies for the treatment of trauma, PTSD, grief and loss. I also have experience and training in treating childhood anxiety.
As a Gottman Level 2 couples counselor, I have training and experience counseling people in intimate relationships who have disconnected from one another or who are struggling with communication or conflict. Gottman method enables me to quickly pinpoint areas where the relationship is healthy and the areas it shows where it is more fragile. Together you will learn and practice tools to reinforce your strengths and overcome your challenges.
Licensed by the State of Oregon in 2009, I hold a Master degree in counseling from George Fox University and a BA in psychology from the University of Montana. Much of my career prior to licensure was working with children and families in school settings.
If you would like to learn more about how I might help you overcome your challenges and reach your goals, please give me a call at 503-342-2510.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
